On the last official day of summer-break (Sunday for our school district), we went camping. That is the beauty of homeschooling! We delayed our 1st day of school celebration by a day so we could ride bikes, build a campfire, eat S'mores, and sleep outside.
So today was our first day of school, and the girls were so excited about their annual smily-face pancakes and school cones!

Next year, all three of the girls will be in elementary school!
We only do smiley face pancakes one day of the year...the 1st day of school!
It is such a joy being their mommy and their teacher.
Jillian was super sentimental about our first "1st day of school" in our new home. She was the saddest of our three to leave our home in Rockville. She is extremely sentimental, like her momma, but now she loves her home and never wants to move (unless its to Texas and then she might consider it). She wants to be a teacher when she grows up. She really would love more than anything to be a mom who home schools her kids. When I do something that she thinks is special, she often will tell me, "Mom, I am going to do that for my kids when I grow up too." :-) She has a heart of gratitude and always wants to know how she can help.
Faith is my dreamer. Right now, she wants to have a big farm in the country where she can grow all her food. She told me she'll have me over to her house and we can"chit-chat" and she'll make some lemonade and cookies for us on the porch! When she told me that dream for her future, I teared up, it just sounds so heavenly. :-) She also wants to possibly be a missionary and adopt a lot of kids. We recently read the story of George Muller and it really touched her heart. She wants every child to have parents to love them and a home to call their own. She would love to be the mom to lots of kids!!
Anna is my little helper. Today, she helped me prepare lasagna, her most exciting chore is anything that involves measuring cups. Whenever she sets the table or cleans something up, she proudly exclaims, "I am a part of this family!" She loves contributing and being needed in our family!
She also loves to color, color, color! I am thankful to have a little colorer in our family. She also loves to write all the letters that she has learned. She really enjoys making up stories and letters as she writes her letters down.
My three babies are getting so grown-up!

that God gave
each one of them to me!
Jillian took an acting/ performance camp this summer! She can be quite dramatic when she wants to be! I wonder where she got that?!?
Faith took a horse camp this summer. She delights in the beauty of animals and is fascinated by the outside world!
Little Anna could happily spend every day at the park, which we did a lot of this summer! Her favorite thing is to SWING super high!

Jillian has become much more fluent in her reading too. Her favorite chapter books are mysteries.
