They're Having a Baby!

 We are so excited that our friends the Glenn's are expecting their third baby this coming August! I had the blessing of watching the BIG sister & BIG brother while Andrew and Naomi went to the doctor to see their bundle of joy for the first time!   All of the kids played together wonderfully and I really enjoyed my morning with our FIVE sweet kids (I can't believe that there will soon there will be six of them)! 

It was a busy morning. First we did some coloring in the kitchen, then we moved upstairs to the nursery for shape fun, then we went to the basement for the barber shop, then we had lunch, and then we went back to the living room for more fun with dolls!  

It was especially fun for me to experience having a little boy in the house.  Oliver kept me on my toes. He is so energetic and was always able find to something new to explore! :-)

And then he found the stairs to climb!

The girls decided to play downstairs in the basement.

Oliver, even though he is only 15 months old, was trying out the tricycle!

Then he saw his sister driving the red car and decided to hitch a ride somewhere with her. 

Madeline had already gone to see Dr. Jillian and now she is going to see barber Jillian to get a hair cut.  

I love all of the girls creativity in playing with one another. They are such good friends.

 Madeline helped us discover some of our toys in Anna's closet that we hadn't played with for a while! :-) YAY for sweet friends!

Jillian enjoyed dressing her dolls "fashionably" in shorts and tops with various shoes. LOTS OF FUN!

Cupcakes to Celebrate Love!

My cupcake was the 1st to be completed and was the inspiration for all the others. ;-)

Jillian being a typical 1st born took the task of decorating her cupcake very seriously.  She was very precise as she iced her chocolate cupcake. 

She used all of her icing to make an extra gooey cupcake!

I love my girl and I think she loved her cupcake! 

Faith was a lot more free-spirited about icing her cupcake.

She got a little icing on there and was ready to move on to the sprinkles!

At first she was using the red sprinkles but she didn't think they added enough umph...

So then she decided to use the ball sprinkles but they unexpectedly spilled out really fast!  She was a little concerned at first about the mess.

But then realized she could pick them up and put them back in the container.  

We assured her "we" (really mommy) would clean it up, so after that she just enjoyed putting the sprinkles in her mouth.

It was a scrumptious Valentine's Day cupcake!

And Faith enjoyed every lick of her hand....

and every last bite too!

My hubby decided to put "smoochers" on his cupcake!

Valentine's Day

First on the agenda was to play with their Melissa and Doug cupcake set and get some practice decorating cupcakes! 

Next, we made Valentines! Faith was very proud of herself for dividing all of the shapes into like colors! She is very good at her colors.  When I was her age (3 years old), I was always getting my colors confused. My parents thought I was either really slow or color-blind! :-) But no worries... I am not the only "slow one" in the fam, Brad couldn't read until he was nearly in the second grade!  Ours kids come from some good roots. ;-)

For lunch that day, the girls each had a special heart sandwich!  Jillian loved it because there was no crust and has asked every day since for another heart sandwich.  I told her it was special celebration for Valentine's Day, she replied, "Oh! It was Valentine's Day that day?" 

Happy Valentine's Day Weekend

After being in my pajamas for three days in a row (I changed pajamas every day), I finally got dressed in outside clothes!  Hooray!

I just had gone upstairs to get my sweet Anna from her nap and Daddy captured these sweet photos of the two of us when we came back downstairs.  

Happy 1st Valentine's Day Anna!  You are very loved.

I was a little restless after having been in the house for so many days and I had a couple of books on reserve at Rockville library, so we decided to make the trip downtown to get the books and see the festivities for the Winter Festival.  We literally stayed at the library and festival combined for no more than 40 minutes but it was a short and sweet outing for all of us.

We briefly watched them create Mickey Mouse out of ice too! 

There were multiple Disney ice sculptures in downtown Rockville, but this one was the most amazing to our family. :-)

AFTERNOON FUN AT HOME:

After coming home, I heard a frantic cry of "Help, Mommy! Anna is getting into trouble!" from the other room and came into the living room to discover Anna throwing all of our DVDs onto the ground.  

After I captured that moment (and put the DVDs away as well as closed the cabinet door), Faith asked me to take picture of her too! I took a picture and then said Faith, "You need to smile, sweetheart!".  She looked at me very confused and said, "That is a smile." LOL.

I then asked her if I could have a smile with TEETH! :-)

In this picture, Faith is wearing a poodle skirt from our dress up clothes down-stairs.  She absolutely loves dressing up.   :-)

Anna back to the same place try to open the cabinet to have all that fun again! She is so funny!

DINNER:

My request for Valentine's Dinner this year was fajitas! 

The chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful.  Brad marinated the chicken in some store-bought fajita marinade and added some of his own seasonings as well and then grilled it! 

Rice-a-Roni Fajita Rice is superb in fajitas!!!

One of our favorites places to eat is California Tortilla where one of the children's menu items is make-your-own-fajita!   We decided to do it at home for Valentine's weekend.

The girls had the best time creating their very own fajitas!

SATURDAY BEDTIME:

Anna waving good-bye/ good-night to me! She is a funny character, so animated in all that she does!

SUNDAY MORNING & the LOVE of Music Boxes:

The first thing Faith did when she woke up was dress up like a princess (she did not sleep in her purple gown!).   Here the big girls are showing Anna their fun music boxes.  

Faith did a good job sharing with her little sister, while Jillian was a little less enthusiastic about sharing.  Faith is definitely more of a morning girl than any of the rest of us!
