Father's Day Weekend

The girls and I were blessed to have our dads with us for Father's Day 2011!   I loved getting to celebrate my father and my husband (our girls' daddy) on this very special day!
Grammie and Grandad with the girls!
Grandad opening his Father's Day card from the girls! Grandad was given a Bruster's "gift-certificate" and we are hoping to go bowling someday soon too!

My dad taught me all the fundamentals of bowling, skating, putt-putt golfing, swimming, tubing, go-karting, riding my bike, all the fun recreational activities. He is a great teacher and some of my sweetest memories as a child are sharing those times with my dad!

That night, we went to Chick-Fil-A (our favorite) for dinner!
Even though Grandad had already had his FREE Father's Day Shake from Chick-fil-A, Faith still wanted to share her ice-cream cone with her Grandad! So sweet!!!
Jillian was also happy to share with Grammie her ice-cream cone!  The girls love Grammie and Grandad so much!
After our fun dinner, Grammie and Grandad sent us out to enjoy ourselves on a date!!!   We made plans to go to our friends the Pierson's for dessert and a game of  dominoes "42".   But before that, we had a little time to kill and went to Redland Park to enjoy the swing set. It was a nice relaxing night, and it was so fun being out of the house by ourselves!!!
Father's Day morning, Jillian was so excited it was her Daddy's special day!

Faith with her daddy!
Little Anna was a messy face from breakfast! She gives the best wet, sloppy kisses! :-)
Daddy's big present this Father's Day was our family's 1st camping trip for the following weekened! We bought a new tent, some new sleeping bags, new camping chairs, an ice-cooler, and all kinds of gear to make the fun happen! :-)
Brad got a home-made (from scratch) cinnamon roll for his breakfast that morning!  It was AMAZING (if I do say so myself)!
Grammie and Grandad joined us for church and when we got home we tried to snap a photo of Grandad, Brad, and the three girls together (with their matching dresses).
Then the dads went out and brought back Outback Steakhouse for our lunch! It was yummy!
Jillian loving on her daddy after giving him a card!
Jillian reading for Grandad for the 1st time!!! Grammie and Grandad were both so very proud of Jillian!

I bought a delicious Black Forest cake for dessert! (We saved it for a little later, because we already had plans for Bruster's!)

We enjoyed our favorite ice-cream Bruster's!!! And then Grammie took the older girls and me shopping at the mall for a couple of of new things, while the dads rested at home!

That night, Jillian and Faith had a sleepover at the hotel!  They ordered a pizza to eat at the hotel, tried to go swimming, and enjoyed the hotel breakfast buffet.  They had a marvelous time.  Now every time we drive by the hotel Grammie and Grandad stayed at (which is literally in our neighborhood), the girls wave and say "Hi Grammie & Grandad!".

Grammie sent me these photos from her phone of their adventures together:

Grandad and the girls trying to get in the COLD water at the hotel pool!
Jillian and Faith in the BIG hotel bed!!!
The next day, Grammie and Grandad took the girls to get a hair cut (via our request...THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!). They went to Cartoon Cuts where the kids get to sit in a special cartoon seat, watch a movie, and get their hair styled in a fun way! Faith got her hair in a french braid!
Jillisn had her styled with a couple of braids and then put in a pony tail! Both of the girls look adorable and had a great time!
In the meantime, while the girls were getting their haircuts, I was enjoying the special treat of a luxurious pedicure from Grammie and Grandad.

Then the six of us (Brad had to go to work) went to Panera for lunch together.  It was a fantastic trip!!!  Thanks again Grammie and Grandad for coming to see us. We can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks.
