After the zoo, our dear friend, Auntie Jen, surprised us with a visit, along with the return of our sleeping bags that she and Mike had used for their adventure out west. It was absolute perfect timing: one, because we always love seeing Auntie Jen, and two, because the next day we were leaving for our church retreat!

Auntie Jen had a very eventful day that day and had nearly been in an accident on I495 because of a malfunction in her truck that caused her to lose complete control! It was very scary and left Jen visibly shaken (several hours later), we were so happy that she was with us that evening. Faith got a good cuddle and as a family we praised God many times over that He was watching over our dear friend.

We also called Uncle Mike and asked him if he wanted to take the Metro in to Shady Grove to have some dinner with us! We ate dinner, and read some Pippi Longstocking before the girl's bed-time. Then afterwards, the grown-ups took some time to play Ticket to Ride Europe with the 1912 expansion. :-)
It was a wonderful ending to a blessed day.
