Grammie surprised us with a quick trip to D.C. in August! She was right in time to help us celebrate us buying our first home.

The girls were especially excited to see Grammie! As always, she spoiled us, and brought treats for us all, including Black-eyed Susans from her garden in North Carolina. That evening, the girls had a sleep-over with Grammie at the hotel. Then, in the morning we all had Krispy Kreme donuts together.

In the afternoon, we had a shady Chick-Fil-A picnic under our favorite tree in our backyard. Grammie also took the girls to the park for some afternoon fun.

That night, Grammie treated us to a special celebratory dinner!

We went to the Black Market Bistro in Garrett Park.

We had the first reservation of the night and at the beginning of our meal were fortunate to have the restaurant all to ourselves.

Grammie (and Grandad too) spoiled us with our pickings from the menu, including an incredible bottle of wine. It seriously was the best wine I have ever enjoyed! Normally (which is less than once a year), I am completely satisfied with a couple of sips, but this time I finished my glass! :-)
