MOPPETS Performance

We had a fantastic last meeting for MOPS 2010 with a Christmas celebration. We did a Christmas relay, complete with moms chugging down apple cider in sippy cups (this was VERY hard and I spilt my juice all over me!), wrapping a Christmas box, taking a photo with Santa hats, pictionary, singing "Jingle Bells" with large marshmallows in the mouth, and stuffing stocking with newspaper! It was an adrenaline rush and so much fun.

Also at this meeting we had a delicious brunch provided by all the ladies in our group and a talk by our pastor's mother. She gave a talk about how to teach your children to have a giving heart. The finale of the party was a performance by our three and four year olds!

Faith was so excited when she walked into the "mommy's room". She wanted to stay with me and forgo the performance, but I was very proud of her for sticking it out and going up to the front.

Buddy decided he wanted to stand by his "Faithee" (as he endearingly calls his friend) and his sister Ava.  I love the contrast between the solemn Mary and exuberantly happy donkey in this photo.
At this point, we have also lost our "star" and our angel Madeline is fascinated by the stage behind her.

Our Star is BACK!  Do you see Faith looking at me from the corner of her eyes? 

It was endearing to watch them stand there in their little line all dressed up to tell the Nativity story. The songs were very sweet and the parents enjoyed singing along with the CD but the kids mostly stood there and looked at us. It was definitely a performance to remember.  :-)
