It has been CRAZY in the Holmes Household. We have missed church the last three Sundays because of illness in our home! Jillian has gotten use to us going to the Doctor's office to play, instead of to play group or church!
Faith has been ill with a really bad bacterial infection (that began the day Brad's family arrived in England). It began with a nasty eye infection, which unfortunately coincided with her dedication at our church. We decided to go ahead and do it anyway, but left church before anyone could have contact with Faith! :(
Good news is we are now on the third round of antibiotics and she is doing much better, and we should complete the medicine tomorrow! We are very relieved and hoping to be back at church again this Sunday. One of the worst side effects of the antibiotic had been Faith's diarrhea; there has been a lot of "nappy changing" in this household too!
To top that, we are getting prepared to move. We have filled nearly every weekend for the next 4 weeks with "dates" to say good-bye to close friends. We are praying that God will give us closure, since it will be difficult to say good-bye to this time in our lives.
We have also begun the process of giving things away, sorting what we will take and what we will leave her. When we leave on May 20th we will only be taking 6 checked bags of luggage and 4 carry-ons! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks!
I hope you enjoy my playing catch-up with our blog! I hopefully will be able to blog some more before our BIG MOVE in 27 days.
I'm so glad for all the updates! The pictures are wonderful and I'm so sorry little Cambria has been sick, but I'm glad she's on the mend. Godspeed for your packing and returning here - we miss you! BUT, we know your time spent there has been precious, and we are praying for your last few weeks with your friends.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenna! We are blessed by your prayers and encouragement! :)
ReplyDeleteWe loved seeing your pictures of Paris, in particular that you got to Versailles, which is so amazing. It is also amazing to think that you are leaving- in my mind you are a Clare Hall fixture, but I guess that changes all the time. I hope all the packing goes smoothly and you have people to help you like you helped us when we packed up. love Ruth and Matthew, Helena and Kate

ReplyDeleteRuth, we miss you here! We have really enjoyed it here, but as you know, people come and go all the time. Its been sad to say good-bye to so many people (INCLUDING YOU and your family!) , so in some ways that is making our move a little easier! We hope to see you in New Zealand (or America) some day! :)
