It has begun ...

For those of you who have not been watching the news, we are getting hammered up here with some snow.  Last December's 18 inch snow fall was called the Snowpocalpyse.  This time around, it is Snowmageddon (Snow + Armageddon).  Some of the entries that didn't win out were "Oblizzerated" and "Keyser Snowze" and "Snowpocalypse II: Return of the Snow!"

This is the third time since 1940 that DC has seen TWO double digit snowfalls in one winter.  And the all time record for a single snow-event was 1922 with a 30 inch snow-fall, and that could happen here again this weekend.

Here is the predicted snowfall for our area:

10% chance less than 10"
20% chance 10-16"
55% chance 16-26"
15% chance 26"+

Also, if you are in the DC area (of even if you are not, but want to be properly prepared), and are unsure what to do, I highly recommend you check out this handy website put up just for this occasion: "Snopocalypse D.C."

We'll keep you posted, and have some pictures tomorrow.  So far, we are about an hour into the storm predicted to last 24 hours, and are already seeing 1-2 inches accumulating.
