Our friend Michelle blessed us with a wonderful new tradition this year. For the first time, the girls enjoyed a Christmas advent calendar.

She bought this Santa Clause Christmas calendar at Hobby Lobby (plain/unpainted) and then she personally hand-painted it for us. Didn't she do a beautiful job?

On the 30th of November, the day before the "25 day Christmas countdown" began, Lindsey and Michelle came over to deliver the surprise for the girls!

On the 30th of November, the day before the "25 day Christmas countdown" began, Lindsey and Michelle came over to deliver the surprise for the girls!

In the kitchen, Michelle secretly gave me my "Mom's guide", so I could give the girls a special surprise every day leading up to Christmas!
The girls loved the Santa Clause calendar

and were even more excited the next day when they got to open the 1st box to discover a clue (we rotated who opened the box but everyone could look for it!). After this first day, every morning, the girls would run down-stairs excited to open another box.

"Go look where you keep your toys." Other clues were "Look under the place where Anna sleeps", or "Go to where you brush your teeth", or "Look in the bag where mommy keeps diapers."

The first day, the girls received princess journals!

Other days, the girls received Christmas mini-Barbies (as seen in photo), snowflake cups, play tattoos, princess markers, slinkies, pink hot cocoa, princess bracelets, punching balloons, candy, and MORE!! It was a really fun activity for our family and got all of us even more excited about Christmas coming!
