Games Galore

During one of the Pull's open houses, we watched their girls for them.  While Anna and Aliyah took a nap, we read The Nutracker while listening to Tchaikovsky.  The girls loved the story and ballet dancing to the music. 

Then Brad played some Richard Scarry's Busy Town game with the girls. 

Someone spinned a "Goldbug", so all the girls are looking for hidden objects with their mini magnifying glasses.

Then all the girls (except Aliyah) and Brad went on a walk to the grocery story! They shared lots of adventures together that day. 

Then the week of Christmas, the whole Pull family joined us for dinner and gave our girls a new awesome (it's both fun & educational!) game for Christmas...Zingo!

Then we gave the Pull's their annual Christmas gift from us, a new game!

This one is called Agricola.  It's a game for 1 to 5 players. I chose this one in particular because it's difficult to find a GREAT two person strategy game! Our dear friends are moving in February, and we wanted our friends to have a fun game to play when we are too far apart to play with one another.  

It was a good choice; together the four of us have played it at least a half dozen times! It's a ton of fun and a little (okay....A LOT) addicting.

A synopsis of the objective of the game is: "In Agricola, you're a farmer in a wooden shack with your spouse and little else. On a turn, you get to take only two actions, one for you and one for the spouse, create your farm from scratch to maintain your livelihood."  :-) 

The game is pretty complicated and was a BIG PUZZLE that thankfully we all were able to figure out together. It was a bonding experience! :-)

In In the end, there was only one victor. Trisha's face expresses the dual emotions she must have been feeling because I won (she's happy for me!) and she didn't (a little disappointed!).  No worries though, she's beaten me a few times since then! Some would say I have beginner's luck. :-)
