Aggieland

On our way to our alma mater, Texas A&M....

The girls were tuckered out from all of the excitement from the previous days, and took a good nap for the next hour and a half of driving.  

We showed the girls around one of our favorite places in the world: Aggieland!  First, we took the girls by Auburn Court.

This was the house Brad lived in with three other guys in college.

This was just right down the road from his house, and Brad went here on a regular occurrence (in the summer, most every day)!  

Then just a little further down the road was Redstone Apartments! 

This was our first home together.  We paid the bargain price of $550 a month, including our water bill!   

Then we went to campus and we saw my freshmen dorm, Mosher Hall.

The administration building, where I had my bridal photos taken.  

Then, we went to the newly renovated Memorial Student Center.

We had our wedding reception at the MSC and walked down these steps to go on our honeymoon.

This was Brad's groom cake!  It was beautiful, delicious, and extremely Aggie-proud.

Our friends and family blew bubbles at us as we departed.

Then, we got into our fancy limo to go on our honeymoon! 

Family and friends waved us good-bye! :-)

Back to present-day Aggieland, Brad and the girls stood in front of the Academic Building with Sul Ross.

Jillian and Anna stood in front of the Century Tree with me.  

This is where Brad proposed to me January 8, 2004 (over 10 years ago now).  Tradition is if you walk hand-in-hand with someone you love under the Century Tree, you will have a long and happy marriage. It was very special for us to get to go back to the place where we became engaged. 

It was also a little bit embarrassing. Our family stuck out like sore thumbs. We are definitely older than most of that college students and not only that, we had three kids in tow to boot! It wasn't hard for most Ags to figure out why we were there, but we got quite a few stares and funny smiles! :-)

We didn't get to see everything in Bryan/ College Station that we would have like to have seen. It was a quick couple of hours walking down memory lane, but as we were heading back to the highway, we passed one more special place.  

The Scott and White Clinic was where we found out"for certain" that we were joining the "parents club". That's what our doctor called it when he congratulated us.  We heard our baby's first beat at this clinic.  And a few weeks after that, the day before I graduated from A&M, we had our first glimpse of our baby girl! For many reasons, Aggieland will always hold a special place in our hearts.
