When we first began discussing the idea of homeschooling with Jillian, her one hesitation was that she wouldn't get to have birthdays cupcakes with her family and friends at school.
But thankfully, that was easily remedied.
Mrs. S. was happy to accomodate a mini-birthday party for Jillian during the Five Senses class. She even incorporated the cupcakes into a lesson about taste!
Anna enjoyed singing to her big sister and every bite of her chocolate cupcake.
Then, we went to Faith's room and shared cupcakes with her preschool class for her birthday. (Adventure Club was cancelled the following Monday for Columbus Day, so we did it a week early).
Everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to Faith and enjoyed the cupcakes together.
(A side note, I only let Faith and Anna having a half cupcake the second time around.)
It was a very special time celebrating birthdays with friends at school!
