"Happy Pretend Birthday, Daddy!"

The girls and I had plans today with our Russian neighbors to celebrate their daughter Kate's 1st birthday for lunch, so we improvised and celebrated Brad's birthday a day early. We picked up Birthday Dad from work to take him to lunch at one of his favorite restaurants, P.F. Chang's. 

The girls thought it was so cool that we spent almost the entire day celebrating their daddy's birthday a day early! Jillian repeatedly said throughout the day, "Happy Pretend Birthday Daddy."

It is so fun having kids because we get crayons and the kids menu with all the games on it! Woohoo!

One of Jillian's favorite foods at P.F. Chang's is the lettuce wraps. 

When we are out in public or meeting people for the first time, people will often comment to us, "You have all girls!" or to Brad they will say, "You sure are outnumbered."  (Its funny what people will tell you).  Normally, Brad or I always enthusiastically respond, "We Like Girls!" 

But more recently Jillian has been responding for us and she will say to the stranger, "We don't like having boys in our family, except for our Daddy one." Jillian told someone that yesterday with her most serious face. :-) My sweet Jillian makes me smile. 

I do not know any man who is more patient and helpful than my husband.  The lettuce wraps are extremely messy and little Faith was having difficulty eating hers, so her daddy came over to help her eat it.

Next Tuesday, it will be Anna's first birthday!  Brad and Anna's birthdays are one week apart, just like Faith's and my birthday are a week apart in the month of October (and Jillian's birthday is 3 days before mine).   We like to clump the birthdays together in our house. Its like we get to have Christmas three times a year.
