A Birthday Weekend

The weekend after the 4th of July was a "marathon" birthday weekend with three friends' birthday celebrations!
Our first birthday celebration was for Jillian's K teacher's youngest daughter.  We have become super good friends with their wonderful family over the last couple of years!  So sweet Emma invited all three of the girls to her 6th birthday party!
Emma had her party at Bounce-U, just like Faith!  :-)
It had been a while since we had gone to Bounce-U! So the girls were literally bouncing off the walls with excitement.
It was super good to catch up with our friends. They have had a crazy busy summer with a recent local move, but we are hoping for more time to catch up with AWANA starting up again in a couple more weeks! Hooray!
Then that evening, Faith and I had a mommy/daughter date for our friend Paige's birthday.
We had dinner at California Pizza kitchen, enjoyed walking by the water, and played at the playground for a little while.
It was a pleasant evening, especially to take a stroll. I love how Faith is holding her friends' hands as they walk together! Somehow, the girls look so little and grown up at the same time.
The next day, Sunday, was Uncle Reed's birthday. Both the Smith family and our family went to the early service together at church. Then we caught the earliest matinee movie of Monsters University at the Rio. It was a really cute movie and I think Uncle Reed had fun seeing all of the the girls' funny reactions!

After the movie, we ate lunch at one of Uncle Reed's favorite restaurants, Uncle Julio.  We embarrassed him a little bit by singing out loud to him and ordering him a special dessert (but secretly he really liked it).

It was a fun-filled weekend, but we were also tired, so Anna and I took a little snuggle rest on the couch together.
