What Sick Baby?

The week before Thanksgiving, Anna began running a low fever and had a runny nose.  But we got really scared when we noticed two large, deep red rashes on both her legs.  So we ran her to the urgent care doctors office the night before Brad's parents were flying into town!

And just how did our sick baby handle this difficult time in her little life : with laughter, dancing, and joy, completely oblivious to the real reason why we had rushed out of the house!

Her big sisters were so sweet trying to entertain their baby sister with ring-around-the-rosie!

Round and round they went.  I think Faith is starting to look a little sleepy in this picture.

The three sisters.  Anna has learned what 'say cheese' means.  It means grimace and squint!

More dancing ...

Anna was jumping up and down at this point, mixing ring-around-the-rosie with doing the wave.

We really lucked out later on when we found a bench and a TV playing Mary Poppins.
I packed some light reading while we waited around in the exam room: House Mouse, Senate Mouse.  (We actually have the whole series and have really enjoyed it!)   Brad especially enjoyed the time reading to his girls and teaching a short civics lesson.
And a self-portrait of a weary, relieved mother happy that our 2 hour adventure was coming to a close.  The doctor was a little befuddled, but as best as we could tell, the rash was viral induced.  He said to keep an eye on Anna and come back if things worsened.  But by the next morning, her rash had disappeared, and while I would usually say she was back to her cheery self, truth was, she never left her cheerful disposition for a moment.
